Man held after warehouse closure

A MAN was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage after part of a warehouse was closed by police.

Officers were called to Next Distribution Centre, Brookfields Park, off Manvers Way, Manvers, at around 10am on Monday.

A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police said a 31-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of criminal damage.

She said part of the warehouse was closed “due to concerns for the safety of a man”.

A spokesman for Next said no-one was injured in the incident.

He added: “We are aware of the incident at our Dearne Valley boxed site in Wath-upon-Dearne on Monday, in which no-one was hurt.

“The police attended and we were fully operational again by mid-afternoon.”
