Look out for gritters — but don’t panic
ROTHERHAM motorists are being urged to look out for gritters — but reassured not to panic about the weather.
The borough’s gritting fleet will be out and about on Thursday, but only to test new “automated salting” technology.
The drivers, who are on standby 24 hours a day, seven days a week between November and March, will be able to enjoy spring sunshine rather than frosty conditions.
A council spokeswoman said the public should be advised that a small amount of salt may be spread in some areas as part of the trial.
