Life sentence for double killer
DOUBLE killer Peter Redfern has jailed for life for murdering his daughter and suffocating his wife.
The 70-year-old was ordered to serve minimum term of 17 years in jail for the murder of daughter Sarah (33) and the manslaughter of his wife Jean (67).
Redfern was sentenced this morning at Sheffield Crown Court for the killings at the family home in Sandygate, Wath, last July.
The court heard earlier that he had been undergoing treatment for cancer at the time and the medication may have caused an “adverse drug-induced psychiatric event”.
