A spokesperson for the centre said: “As a precautionary measure, the fire service attended Maltby Leisure and Service Centre on September 28 in response to a member of staff identifying a possible gas leak in the leisure centre side of the building.

“Customers were temporarily moved to the service centre until the fire service confirmed that it was safe and the leisure centre could be immediately reopened.

“We would reassure customers that we are committed to providing high quality and safe facilities and we have rigorous checks in place to ensure we deliver this.

“We’d like to thank the fire service for their swift response and support.”
