Keiron named Apprentice of the Year

SALES superstar Kieron Ellis has been named Retail Apprentice of the Year in prestigious awards run by a training magazine.

Keiron, who lives in Rotherham and works in senior sales at Dorothy Perkins in Lincoln, took the honour in the Student of the Year awards run by student careers advice magazine Xcel.

A retail apprentice at The Source, training centre at Meadowhall, Kieron received his award from TV presenter Konnie Huq at a ceremony in London this week

A spokesman for Dorothy Perkins said: "Kieron has been a highly motivated individual, progressing from top level sales advisor to a senior management position, over a relatively short timescale.

“Kieron has not only worked hard to increase his own product knowledge, customer service and general standards, but he has also worked tirelessly to ensure that his colleagues work to the same standard.

“This has resulted in increased sales, efficiency and profitability. Furthermore, every member of his team is now more commercially aware.”

Kieron’s work based learning tutor at The Source, Franca Kelly, said: “Kieron really is an extra special individual. He is hard working, dependable and motivated and I have seen him grow and develop through his apprenticeship.

Kieron truly deserves the accolade of  Xcel Student of the Year and I am incredibly proud of his achievements."

Kieron said: “I am really proud to have been awarded Xcel Apprentice of the Year. I have shown commitment to my qualification with The Source over the last few years and it has helped me develop my career from shop floor sales, to senior sales. This really is a highlight in my career.”

Xcel Magazine, is a courses and careers advice magazine for students from all backgrounds.
