IT apprentice Katie lands full-time job

AN IT student was named apprentice of the month at her college — and secured a full-time job in the process.

Katie Wood, studying an NVQ Level 2 at RCAT, has also been acting as technical support at Rotherham IT firm Pinnula.

The 20-year-old said: “I have always been interested in IT ever since turning on my first computer and my apprenticeship has got me into the industry.

“I have really enjoyed getting to know everyone here and I’m really pleased they have chosen to keep me as a full-time member of staff.”

Part of Katie’s vocational placement involved helping customers solving technical problems over the phone.

Pinnula’s Christine Lant said: “She’s become such an important member of our support team. Her manner with both customers and staff is professional.”

Katie was awarded with a certificate and Meadowhall vouchers for being apprentice of the month.
