POLICE have re-launched an investigation to trace a 52-year-old man who has been missing for nearly two years.

Officers want to find Steven Jones, from Mexborough, who was known to live rough on the streets of Sheffield until April 2008, as part of a renewed bid to ease the concerns of his family.

"It is unusual for him to lose contact with his family for such a length of time and officers have become concerned for his welfare," a police spokeswoman.

"There's a possibility that he could be living rough in another town or city but we would welcome any information regarding his whereabouts."

Steven, who is also known as Totty, is around 5ft 6ins tall and of a large build.

He has short black balding hair and a strong Yorkshire accent and previously slept rough on Suffolk Road, Sheffield.
