Lynne Waters, TRFT’s director of human resources, said: “The quality of the PROUD Award submissions this year is astounding.

“It’s been humbling to read the nominations and it’s clear that our patients and members of the public truly value the services we provide. I’m looking forward to the ceremony and would like to thank all those people who took the time to nominate.”

The shortlisting process was carried out by a committee of TRFT staff who, alongside members of the Trust board, non-executive directors and governors, deliberated over the nominations to pick the final contenders. The Trust’s chairman, Martin Havenhand and chief executive have also personally selected an individual from the shortlist to receive a special Chairman’s and Chief Executive’s Award for excellence.

The Advertiser’s Editor, Andrew Mosely, will also attend the awards ceremony to present the Public Recognition Award.

He said: “The NHS only tends to make the national news when there is something negative to say, but day in day out staff are working hard and achieving tremendous things.

“Many of us have people such as those nominated in the awards to thank for saving our lives or those of friends and family and these awards are here to celebrate these people and their work.”
