Holi the Hindu festival of colours brightens Rotherham
The hurling of coloured paint is a central feature of the festival of Holi, the Hindu festival of colour.
And more than 100 members of the Rotherham Hindu Community group gathered at St Cuthbert’s Church Hall in Stag on Saturday for the fun event.

Hide AdCommitte member Arun Viswanath said those attending had brought “great enthusiasm and energy”, adding: “Kids and adults applied colours on each others without reservation.
“Children were asked to draw and paint colourful pictures and write a small essay on the festival to mark this lovely occasion.
“Food, sweets, music and dance were all part of the celebration.
“It has encouraged people to come out and be lively again since the pandemic had restricted everyone’s lives.

“It has great ability to bring community together and celebrate diversity.”
