High Street shop wins top business award

AWARD-WINNING shopkeeper Charlotte Scothern has another prize to her growing haul.

 

Patchwork Pig, Charlotte’s gift shop based on High Street in, scooped the City Region Business award for Retail, Leisure and Tourism at a presentation night last Thursday.

She was put forward after winning Retailer of the Year in the Barnsley and Rotherham Business Awards.

Charlotte (23) said: “This award is an amazing achievement — to be up against other wonderful established businesses and to have to won is just unbelievable. “I couldn’t have done it without the support of my family, friends, the RIDO team at the council and Rotherham Youth Enterprise. 

“It just goes to show how amazing it is to have a business in Rotherham town centre.”

Tom Matthews from Tata Steel won the Apprentice of the Year prize at the awards night.

ROTHERHAM-based marquee and gazebo company Gala Tent has scooped the accolade of International Company of the Year in the up to £10 million category Yorkshire International Trade Awards 2015.

The judges said: “With localised websites and back-office systems unique to each distributor in individual countries, the company allowed distributors to operate independently while still as part of the Gala Tent brand.”
