Help couple win dream wedding - and raise charity cash

A COUPLE got engaged just before being chosen for a competition which could see them win a dream wedding.

Ash Bradbury and Julie Braddock are one of six couples taking part in Hallam FM’s 2016 You Tell The Bride contest, where the pair who raise the most for the Cash for Kids charity will win a wedding.

Now they have a busy couple of weeks as they try to raise as much as they can before Sunday, March 6.

Ash (28) and Julie (31), who got engaged on Valentine’s Day, having met seven months before via an online dating site, have a number of money-making events planned and aim to beat last year’s competition winning total of £14,000.

Julie said: “I am absolutely overwhelmed by everyone’s support and generosity.”

The winning couple will be announced live on air on Hallam FM.

Julie, of St Mary’s Crescent in Swinton, and Ash, who lives in Chesterfield, have a timetable which includes a two-hour set by acclaimed DJ Liam Wilson, an auction, a cycling event, bingo and a big bash at Hickleton Golf Club next Saturday from 7pm.

Ash, a bricklayer and DJ, has even agreed to have his legs waxed on Wednesday at Get Fresh on West Street, Wath. In fact, one of his friends has paid £20 to have the first rip!

The You Tell The Bride contestants are unaware of how much they have raised until the final day, when the winner is announced.
