Have your say on Rother Valley policing

ROTHER Valley residents interested in influencing community policing are being urged to attend a meeting this week.

The PACT - 'Police and Communities Together' - gathering will address how Rother Valley South Safer Neighbourhood Team is working with agencies to address crime and anti-social behaviour across the south of the borough.

The meeting takes place at 6pm on Thursday, August 5, at Wales Village Hall.

The monthly meetings ask the community to identify issues affecting their neighbourhood and set three priorities.

Cllr Jane Havenhand, Chair of the Rother Valley South Area Assembly, said the recent dispersal order in Dinnington showed the value of their approach: "Some alcohol was confiscated and a lot of young people were given advice and guidance.

"But not one young person who was issued with a Dispersal Order breached it and this was in no small way due to the extensive communications through schools, parents and partners who joined together to tackle local neighbourhood issues.

"This kind of working is an excellent example of the partnership approach that is working in the Dinnington, Wales and Anston areas and I would urge anyone who has an issue, to attend the PACT meetings.

“By working together, our aim is to make every neighbourhood in Rother Valley South a safe place to live and work."
