Great-grandma scoops Rotherham's best garden award

A GARDENING great-grandma needed nine skips to clear the mess when she first moved in—and now has one of the best gardens in Rotherham.

Jacqui Phillipson (65) caught the gardening bug as a child and her first ever competition entry has seen her finish as overall winner in an contest for council tenants.

Karen King, of Bramley, took second prize in the 2010 Rotherham competition and Maltby’s Michael and Patricia Allen finished third.
