Girl died in bath, inquest hears

Summer Megan Shaw died following an incident last week at her home in Chaucer Road, Mexborough, where she lived with her parents Carl Shaw and Nicole Carr.

Attempts were made to resuscitate her at the scene and continued as she was taken by ambulance to Rotherham Hospital, but she was pronounced dead by medics.

The inquest heard that Summer was in good health and a bath had been run on the evening of December 6 before she was discovered.

The Rotherham Coroner, Ms Nicola Mundy, opened the inquest for identification and adjourned the hearing until May 5.
