Gardening centre boosts ‘grow your own’ campaign

A PROJECT aimed at getting more people growing their own has been boosted by a gardening supplier.

Rotherham Hydroponics Centre at Parkgate donated seeds, pebbles and specialist composts to the Rotherham In Root community vegetable garden, at Rosehill Surgery in Rawmarsh.

Several experiments are planned at Rosehill to see which composts suit which plants best.

Volunteer Sarah Hague said: “We cannot thank Rotherham Hydroponics Centre enough.

“As soon as they heard about our aims for community veg-growing they offered to support us.

“The donation will be put to good use and will benefit many people across Rotherham as the food grown is shared.”
