GALLERY: Maltby fun day for Primrose Appeal

BLUEBELL Wood is blooming in Maltby—with a new support group set up to represent the children’s hospice.

And the launch event at the Edward Dunn Memorial Hall last weekend raised £500 for our Primrose Appeal.

Fund-raiser Caroline Artschan said there was great interest in the new group, which will promote the charity in Maltby.

Maltby becomes the 14th support group and its first official meeting will take place next month.

Caroline said: “We get a mix of retired people, professionals, mums who want something extra to do and others, who all bring with them different skills.

“All skills are needed, from baking to chairing meetings and people can offer as little or as much time as they feel able.

“The group’s first meeting in Maltby will be quite an informal couple of hours for people to get to know one another.

“Anyone interested in helping Bluebell Wood in the area is very welcome to come along.”

She added: “We’re delighted that all of the support in the village and generated by the Primrose Appeal will be turned into a long term positive project.”

It takes place at the Edward Dunn on Tuesday, March 6 at 7pm.
