Fun and excitement at Wath Gala this weekend

FUN and excitement is on the cards in Wath this weekend as the annual town gala bursts into an afternoon of family entertainment for the whole community.

The Town Hall grounds and Montgomery Hall host a jam-packed programme from 1pm to 4pm on Saturday (13) at the event organised by Wath Community Partnership.

The Barnsley Concert Band will be playing throughout the afternoon, while taekwondo experts will be holding a demonstration and inviting spectators to try a session for free.

There will be a tug of war contest and field sports and games with prizes for all ages. 

Cycle Experience will be running a “try-out” cycle roadshow and police quad bikes and fire engines will be on display..

Other attractions include fairground rides, a variety of stalls, giant tombola and a raffle.Refreshments will be provided in the St James’ Room at the parish church by the ladies of the Mothers’ Union.

The popular dog Show with classes to suit every pooch in town, including novelty classes, will be in its usual spot outside Montgomery Hall. Entries should be submitted by 11.30am.
