Family plead for missing dad to come home

THE family of a missing shop owner has appealed for him to make contact, saying: “We love and miss you dearly and just want you home — no matter what has happened.”

Mohan 'John' Singh (47) was last seen leaving his Spar shop in Wath last Monday  morning, when he headed towards Sandygate.

Relatives say Mr Singh’s disappearance is extremely out of character.

A family statement said: “We are dearly missing our loving husband and dad, who left our home on his mother's birthday and has not been heard from since.

“Mohan is extremely hard-working and a dedicated family man. We have run the local Spar shop for about 17 years and Mohan is a well-respected member of the community.

“He is a shy man, but people who know him well, comment on his good sense of humour and his kind heart.”

Mr Singh is described as Asian, between 168cm and 170cm, medium build with brown eyes and brown short hair and a full beard.

He speaks with a Yorkshire accent and was last seen wearing a hooded grey knitted jacket with brown patches on the elbows, dark casual trousers and blue suede-effect lace-up shoes.

He could be wearing a silver bangle on his right wrist and a gold ring on his right hand.

The family added: “At this time of year, Mohan would normally be busy in the shop with the lead up to Christmas.

“However, he loves nothing more than spending time with his family, daughters and two dogs, which is why this behaviour is so out of character especially at this time of year.

“We are desperate to know that he is safe.”

Anyone with information should contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident 344 of November 26 and CX/4400/2012.
