Escaped parrot coaxed back with biscuits

A PARROT worth £1,500 has returned after flying out of a Rotherham pet shop last week.

Alfie, a 17-week-old gold and blue macaw, went missing last Thursday from Dexter’s pet shop in the Guardian Centre.

He was found the next day at Clifton Park when rangers spotted it up a tree and contacted the store.

A £250 reward will be given to the park rangers after Alfie was coaxed down with a pack of digestive biscuits.

Store manager Rebecca Thompson (33) said: “I would just like to thank the rangers because without them we wouldn't have got him back.”
