DJs hit the decks for chance to play in Ibiza

ASPIRING DJs will be on the decks at a Rotherham nightclub trying to win the chance to play a set in front of 5,000 revellers in Ibiza.

Twenty-one DJs are already lined up for a series of heats at Pop Nightclub, on Ship Hill, and more could yet enter the duel of the decks which is set to kick off on Saturday.

Three heats are set to take place—on June 16, July 14 and July 28—before a grand finale on August 25.

The top mix master will win a week-long holiday in Ibiza for two people and a set at the resort’s EDEN nightclub, in front of an estimated 5,000 people, on September 4.

The competition is being run in conjunction with Ibiza Live and Pop Nightclub general manager Ben Hardcastle said: “This is a great opportunity for DJ talent in Rotherham to get some genuine recognition and experience the holiday of a lifetime.”

Alongside the DJ competition, visitors to Pop will be given the chance to win a holiday for two to Ibiza in a raffle held on the night of each of heat.

Each trip includes flights, transfers, hotel and VIP access to EDEN nightclub.
