He has now been contingently removed from NHS Rotherham's list of registered dental practitioners following an appeal hearing earlier this year.

This week the defiant dentist, who has refurbished his surgery and undergone more training, told the Advertiser: “I am determined to carry on working as a dentist.”

The shamed dentist was found to be using instruments caked in hardened dirt, re-using single use syringes and failing to use water with his drilla step which one expert suggested could literally fry a tooth in its own juicesduring an inspection in May last year.

Mr Siddiqui (37) is now banned from working without the supervision of a qualified dental nurse and must compile a Personal Development Plan under stringent measures imposed by the Family Health Services Appeals Unit.

He is also subject to 17 conditions imposed by the General Dental Council imposed ahead of a further hearing in the new year.
