Woman injured in two-car collision in Wath

A 51-YEAR-OLD woman was taken to hospital by ambulance after the car she was driving collided with another vehicle — whose driver and occupants fled the scene.

Police were called after a grey Vauxhall Corsa collided with a blue Vauxhall Mokka on Fitzwilliam Road in Wath yesterday (Monday) at 12.30pm.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said the driver and occupants of the Vauxhall Corsa “fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival and enquiries to locate them are on-going”.

The driver of the Mokka, a 51-year-old woman, was taken to hospital by ambulance with a broken leg, they said, adding that her injuries were not life-threatening.
