Warm weather brings opportunist theft risk

HOME owners leaving their doors and windows open in the warm weather have been warned that they could fall foul of opportunists thieves.

Police in Rotherham believe that the good weather could cause a sudden rise in burglaries as people leave themselves vulnerable to thieves who might target valuables positioned within easy reach.

A police spokesman said: “The hot weather will bring out burglars as people leave doors and windows open or on a locked latch with handbags, purses and keys left very close to the open door.
