Two charged over string of reported robberies

TWO men have been charged in connection with a series of burglaries, robberies and thefts across Doncaster, including in Balby.

Steven Johnson (39) of Furnival Road, Doncaster, and Geoffrey Finlow (36), of no fixed address, have each been charged with 11 offences, including two of robbery of business premises.

Their nine other charges are for shoplifting and other burglary offences.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said there had been several reported incidents of theft and burglaries from commercial premises in the Balby and Wheatley areas, which are believed to have been committed between May and June this year.

The two men appeared at court last Thursday and were remanded into to custody to next appear at Sheffield Crown Court on Thursday, July 6.
