Tommy Ward appeal fund passes £30,000 mark

THE appeal fund for former miner Tommy Ward, who was brutally beaten during an attack at his Maltby home, has smashed the £30,000 mark.

More than 2,000 people have made donations to the GoFundMe page founded to help the 80-year-old, who lost his life savings in the raid on October 1.

There was a double dose of good news for his family, as Tommy opened his eyes and tried to communicate to his family yesterday — just as the appeal total passed £30,000.
