Three men arrested following targeted attack

THREE men have been arrested after a man and woman were allegedly assaulted during a “targeted attack”.

Police were called to a property on Chaucer Road, Mexborough, at around 9pm on Saturday, October 5.

Three men gained entry and allegedly assaulted a 55-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman.

Two men, aged 25 and 29, were arrested on suspicion of committing aggravated burglary on Sunday and bailed pending further enquiries.

A third man, aged 23, was arrested on suspicion of committing aggravated burglary on Monday and was also released on bail.

A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police said: “Police believe this may have been a targeted attack.”
