Three arrested in connection with shop robberies

THREE people have been arrested this morning in connection with three shop robberies last week.

Two men aged 34 and 28-years-old and one woman aged 32 were arrested when police executed warrants in the Highfield Road area of Swinton and the Hawthorne Road area of Wath.

The first robbery occurred at around 8pm last Tuesday at Blaney’s newsagents on Highthorn Road, Kilnhurst.

The second happened at 8.15pm last Friday in the Mighali convenience store on Claypit Lane, Rawmarsh.

The third robbery was reported at 9.05pm last Saturday at Londis on Church Street, Swinton.

All were arrested on suspicion of robbery and remain in custody, where officers are questioning them.
