Thieves steal mini diggers from Mexborough firm

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after the reported theft of two miniature diggers from a business in Mexborough.

Thieves forced the locks at Catlow Civil Engineering, on Pastures Road, between 7.30pm and 9pm on Wednesday, July 20.

The suspects stole two miniature diggers using a white van, which is thought to have been towing a trailer.

Police say a black car was also seen near to the site at the time — both vehicles left the area heading towards High Melton.

One digger has since been recovered in Chapel Lane, Thurnscoe.

An investigation is underway and officers are reviewing CCTV footage from the local area.

They urge anyone who saw a black car or white van in that area on Wednesday evening to get in touch.

They are also appealing to anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in and around the area.
