Street hit by two arson attacks in 27 hours

TWO fires were started deliberately on the same road within the space of 27 hours.

TWO fires were started deliberately on the same road on successive evenings.

The first blaze broke out on Simmonite Road in Kimberworth Park at 8.15pm on Sunday night.

A South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said a picnic table and a tree were set alight and crews from Adwick and Dearne attended for around 45 minutes.

A small rubbish fire was also started on Monday night at 11.40pm and dealt with by a crew from Rotherham station.
