"Spiderman" robber threatens shop worker with knife

HE’S KNOWN for fighting crime not committing it — but “Spiderman” is being hunted by police after threatening a shop worker with a knife.

Staff at the Nisa Local shop in Violet Avenue, Edlington, were stunned when the robber in a Spiderman mask brandished a knife and demanded cash from the till.

The raid happened at around 8.25pm on Sunday.

A police spokesman said no-one had been injured in the incident but the shop worker was left shaken.

The not-so-superhero was described as white, around 5ft 8ins tall, of scrawny/slim build and speaking with a local accent.

He was wearing a red and blue Spiderman balaclava, blue jeans with a white and blue jumper.
