Rotherham shotgun raiders terrorise betting shop staff

THREE men in boiler suits and balaclavas threatened bookies staff with shotguns during a raid.

Police appealed for information after the trio robbed Betfred on Main Street in Swallownest.

They demanded the cashier open the safe when they entered the shop at 9.20pm on Wednesday.

One man acted as a lookout, keeping the door to the bookmakers open. A dog belonging to one of the customers ran out outside and was killed by a car.

The suspects are described as 6ft tall. All three wore balaclavas and boiler suits and one is thought to have been wearing small silver-rimmed glasses.
