Robbers threaten Aughton shop staff

SHOP staff were threatened by robbers armed with a gun at a store in Aughton before the two men made off with cash on Tuesday afternoon.

The armed robbery took place at a shop in Aughton Road around 4pm. The men, who had their faces covered, made off with a quantity of money.

Police said they are believed to have run out of the shop and down a gennel on the other side of Aughton Road.

Officers continue their enquiries in the local area, but would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
