Quad bike rider hit child in pushchair

A MUM told how her two-year-old child could have been killed after a pushchair was hit by a quad bike rider.

Police believe the suspect deliberately drove at the woman in Rawmarsh, causing her to move out of the way.

The rider then hit the pushchair, which rolled over with the child inside, and fled the scene at about 5.20pm last Thursday.

The two-year-old suffered minor facial injuries.

The mum said: “I fully support police action as this could have seriously injured or even killed my child.”

Sgt Tony Lee added: “This appears to have been a deliberate act by the quad bike rider and this has resulted in a small child being injured.

“This complete disregard for a woman and child’s safety is disgraceful and we need to identify the person responsible for this crime.

“We are investigating this as assault and would appreciate the help of the public and local community to trace this quad bike and its rider.”
