Police warning after attempted Tickhill break-in

BURGLARS trying to break into a Tickhill house fled after the intruder alarm woke residents inside.

Police said the incident at a house at Langdale Drive, Tickhill, at 2.30am on Wednesday showed the value of keeping doors locked and having security measures.

Oficers working on South Yorkshire Police’s Operation Lockdown said owners of three other homes in the Doncaster borough had not been so lucky, with electrical items worth a total of £4,000 and a VW Golf stolen in three incidents overnight the same night where doors were left unlocked.

A spokeswoman said: “It shows that Doncaster homes should not be open all hours.”
