Police probe Mexborough stabbing

Part of Spencer Street has been closed while officers investigate the incident in which a 49-year-old man sustained stab wounds.

Police believe a dispute broke out at 7.40am between a group of men.

The injured man was taken to hospital where his condition is described as serious.

The road is expected to remain closed for the next few hours.

Officers investigating the incident are appealing to anyone who was in area this morning, who believes they may have witnessed the incident, to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 175 of November 23 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
