A POLICE investigation is under way after the body of a man was found in a stream at Wombwell.

A POLICE investigation is under way after the body of a man was  found in a stream at Wombwell.

Police were called to after a dog walker discovered the body at the back of Valley Road at around 6.05pm on Monday.

An underwater search team was deployed to recover the body from the water.

South Yorkshire Police has launched an investigation to determine how the man came to his death.

Anyone with information is urged to call 101 quoting incident number 833 of May 12.
