Police patrols stepped up after new attack by Rawmarsh vandals

POLICE have stepped up patrols in a village after yobs threw "missiles" at buses for the second consecutive night.

A gang of up to 20 teenagers smashed the window of a bus by throwing a rock at it on Dale Road, Rawmarsh, at around 8.30pm on Wednesday.

The Stagecoach bus depot, on Dale Road, has also been vandalised.

Insp Lax said: "We have introduced a section 35 dispersal order which gives us the power to move the youths on from certain areas.

"From 7pm tonight (Thursday) our officers will be able to order the youths to move away from the High Street and Bellows Road area or risk us taking further action.

"We will be further increasing patrols in the area tonight and we won't tolerate this sort of behaviour. We will take positive action against those responsible."
