Police officer arrested on suspicion of 'corruption' and 'misconduct'

A POLICE officer has been arrested on suspicion of police corruption, incorporating abuse of position, and misconduct in a public office.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said the investigation had followed a report to its professional standards department.

The 38-year-old PC, who was working on a response team in Doncaster, has been bailed pending further enquiries and is currently suspended from duties.

The spokesperson said the investigation was ongoing.
