Police hunt "mindless vandals" after bungalow paint attack

POLICE are appealing for information about “mindless vandals” who threw gallons of paint at a bungalow.

The home on Holly Grove, Wath, was splashed with white undercoat at around 8.40pm on Wednesday, damaging windows and walls.

Two men were seen running off in the direction of Fir Close.

The bungalow’s owners said that they had no idea why they had been targeted.

Pc Brett Thompson said: “This is another incident of mindless vandalism which is blighting the Wath area.

“Recently a large number of windows were also smashed in the main building at St Pius School, and on a separate occasion a number of windows were smashed at Wath Leisure Centre.”

He added: “We are appealing to anyone who knows someone who came home on the night of May 16 splashed with white paint.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who recently had white undercoat paint stolen.”
