Plea over £1m jewellery haul

POLICE are teaming up with the BBC Crimewatch programme to locate the rightful owners of a haul of more than £1 million worth of jewellery.

Officers in South Yorkshire seized a large quantity of cash and more than 70 items of jewellery in an operation in Doncaster last August and are now hoping to return the pieces.

An spokesman ssaid that  “some of the pieces would be easily identifiable to any person who has possessed, owned, designed or made them.”

The jewellery will feature on tonight’s episode of Crimewatch
