Pictured: Men wanted in connection with town disorder

POLICE officers continuing their investigation into disorder that followed a demonstration in Rotherham town centre have issued images of seven men they want to trace.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “Following a demonstration at around 4.30pm on September 5, disorder broke out in the Wellgate area.

“A number of people are alleged to have thrown bottles and bricks, injuring a number of people.

“Police arrested 19 men earlier this month, four from West Yorkshire and another 15 from Rotherham, on suspicion of violent disorder.

“All remain on police bail pending further consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service.”

Investigating officers believe the seven men pictured (images two and eight are of the same individual) could hold vital information about the inquiry.
