Pensioner's handbag stolen while tending to husband's grave

A WIDOW had her handbag stolen while tending to her husband’s grave in Catcliffe.

The 80-year-old woman was at the grave in St Mary’s Church graveyard, St Mary’s Drive at around 2.35pm yesterday (Tuesday, March 8).

A man ran up to the grave, snatched the woman’s handbag from the ground and made off on a bicycle.

The man is described as white, aged in his mid-20s and was wearing a light grey hooded top and blue tracksuit bottoms.

The woman was not injured but has been left distressed by the incident.
