Masked men rob Herringthorpe bookies

The reported armed robbery occurred at Betfred bookmakers in Browning Road, Herringthorpe, around 7.45pm on Monday, November 7.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said the masked man threatened staff and appeared to have something in his hands but could not confirm if it was a weapon.

He is described as around 6ft tall and in his early 20s.

She added: “The man left the store with a quantity of cash, where a second unknown man with his face covered was reportedly holding open the door.”

The accomplice was wearing a dark mask and dark clothing.

The men are believed to have used a vehicle to flee the scene.
