Man suffers ‘critical’ head injuries following Mexborough attack

A MAN is in a critical but stable condition after suffering head injuries during an early morning disturbance.

Police were called to an incident in Hirstgate, Mexborough at 1.40am on Sunday, October 6.

They found a 24-year-old with head injuries who remains in critical condition in hospital.

A 30-year-old man was arrested and charged with grievous bodily harm and appeared at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

John Butler, of Hirstgate, was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on Monday, October 21.
