Man dies in Tickhill bungalow blaze

A MAN  died in a bungalow fire on Saturday night.

A man and woman were inside the property at the time but the woman managed to escape.

Three fire engines were called to the property on Pinfold Close, Tickhill, at 9.30pm.

The cause of the blaze is being investigated.

The Advertiser’s district correspondent, Don Gill, saw the aftermath of the fire.

He said: “I have never witnessed anything like this in Tickhill before.”

Mr Gill said that the property was covered at the front with a large tarpaulin as part of the roof was burned away.

He said that yesterday three police cars were outside the property with one officer on guard outside and another conducting house to house enquiries.

A body was taken away in a private ambulance.
