Man arrested after reported rape at Herringthorpe
A MAN was in police custody last night (Wednesday) after the reported rape of a woman by a stranger.
Officers and crime scene investigators attended Chaucer Road, Herringthorpe, at 5.30pm on Tuesday.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “We know incidents of this nature can be alarming to our communities.
“We would like to reassure you that our officers arrived quickly on scene and arrested a man in connection to the rape.
“The victim is being supported by officers and partner agencies.”
