Man and woman seriously injured in Wath collision

A MAN and a woman have been left seriously injured after a hit and run collision in Wath.

The incident was reported at 11pm on Friday (December 28) when a black VW Jetta was travelling along Quarry Hill Road.

The VW hit a stationary Ford Focus C-Max and then two pedestrians - a 24-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman who suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police said the car then made off from the scene.  

A 27-year-old man has been questioned, but enquiries are ongoing.

Witnesses are urged to call 101, quoting incident number 938 of December 28.
