Hide AdSouth Yorkshire Fire and Rescue have issued advice on how to prevent candles from causing fire in the home.
A spokesman said: “We advise householders to keep candles away from curtains and not to leave them unattended in an unoccupied room.
“Candles should be in secure holders which will not fall over — tea lights should be in holders or on a heat-resistant surface.
“When no longer needed both should be completely extinguished and not left smouldering.”
