House fire sparked by electrical fault

AN ELECTRICAL fault is thought to have caused a house fire last night.

Firefighters were called to a property on Stotfold Drive, Thurnscoe, at around 9.20pm on Monday.

A fire service spokesman said the blaze started in a first floor bedroom.

Crews from Dearne, Adwick and Edlington attended the property.

Firefighters also dealt with a car fire in Thurcroft.

A Volkswagen Polo was set alight on Gurth Drive at around 3.30am.

Crews from Maltby dealt with the incident.

Arsonists also set rubbish alight on Everill Gate Lane, Wombwell at around 7pm on Monday.

It took appliances from Dearne and Cudworth around half-an-hour to deal with the incident.

Crews from Dearne were also called to a rubbish fire on Barnburgh Lane, Goldthorpe overnight and a skip fire on Oldgate Lane, Thrybergh.
