Garden fire sets garage ablaze
FIREFIGHTERS have warned residents to keep bonfires away from property after one spread to a garage on Saturday night.
Crews from Rotherham and Dearne stations were called to Netherfield View, Dalton, at about 10pm.
A fire service spokesman said: “The occupant had been burning papers on a small bonfire.

Hide Ad“The fire spread to a fence and then a garage at the property. We would remind residents to site garden fires away from houses, sheds and trees.”
Earlier, firefighters rescued a woman in her 40s after an unattended pan caused a house fire in Mexborough.
The resident was given oxygen at the scene but was not injured. Firefighters from Dearne were at Comelybank Drive for an hour from 7.15pm.
